Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When does practice start?
A: Practice will start about March 1st. The weather will be the deciding factor of when we can get on the fields.

Q: When are games?
A: The game schedule will not be out until mid-March, but games will be played on week nights and/or Saturdays.

Q: Is there still room for my son/daughter to sign up?
A: Being our THIRD year, of course! But don't wait until the last minute to sign your child up.

Q: Where will practice be?
A: Our practice fields are located at Veteran's Memorial Park. We have been given the use of the three back fields for practice and games.

Q: Can my child play lacrosse and baseball (or soccer, etc.)?
A: The short answer is that it is up to you… but please consider the following before making the decision: What do you hope to accomplish by playing two sports, and what commitment are you going to make to each? When asked in the past, we have always said that athletes should commit to the in-season sport. If you play a fall sport and want to also play fall lacrosse, you can do both, but should give that fall sport the first priority. However, in the spring, lacrosse is the "in-season" sport, and should take priority. This means being willing to miss a soccer or baseball game to make a lacrosse practice! We don’t believe you should try to play two "in-season" sports. You would not be treating either team fairly. For this reason we discourage trying to play Spring lacrosse and spring baseball. Not only will you miss-out on a lot from each sport; you could be bumping someone out of the program that really wants to play and is willing to commit to it. Our advice is that if you like baseball or soccer, stick with it until you loose interest. Then you can try lacrosse. If you do decide to play two in-season sports, please notify us during registration so we can plan for the possibility of missed games.

Q: When do I need my equipment?
A: You will need your equipment the first day of practice.

Q: Where do I get equipment?
A: There are several local or on-line companies. However, Dick's Sporting Goods has been a big supporter of our program this year. Discount coupons are available at sign-ups. Helmets are available to be ordered through us at sign-ups.

Q: How do I know what size equipment my child needs?
A: Just ask us! We will be more then happy to assist you in sizing your child for equipment.

Q: Can my child use hockey equipment?
A: Sorry, no. Even though it may look the same, hockey equipment and lacrosse equipment are different.
